The University of Saint Francis will present “The Wizard of Oz” in six shows, Nov. 4-13. at the USF Robert Goldstine Performing Arts Center, 431 W. Berry St., Fort Wayne. Brad Beauchamp will direct.
Written in 1900 by L. Frank Baum, “The Wonderful Wizard of Oz” was the first American fantasy for children and one of the most-read children’s books. The 1939 film starring Judy Garland was nominated for six Academy Awards and won Best Original Song for “Over the Rainbow.”
Show times are: Friday, Nov. 4, 8 p.m.; Saturday, Nov. 5, 8 p.m.; Sunday, Nov. 6, 2 p.m.; Friday, Nov. 11, 8 p.m.; Saturday, Nov. 12, 8 p.m.; and Sunday, Nov. 13, 2 p.m. Doors will open 30 minutes before the show for general seating. Ticket prices are $18 for adults and $15 for seniors 65 years or older and children under 18. Group rates of $12 per person are available to groups of 20 or more.
After the Sunday matinees, USF will offer youngsters a chance to become official members of the Lollipop Guild.
