Princesses, princes and ballerinas gathered Nov. 6 at the Fort Wayne Country Club for a social extravaganza.
Jeanne Mirro, board president of the Fort Wayne Ballet, said the event began 11 years ago, as a “friend raiser, not a fundraiser.”
“We have two hours of just a lot of fun activities for little girls and little boys,” said Mirro.
Not only do the children get to interact with ballet dancers, they’re also treated to sample performances.
“The Nutcracker is always popular because people know about that, we always fill the house, but our fall and spring performances we want more people to participate,” Mirro said. “So, we start and get the parents here, a lot of them that don’t know anything about the ballet come to this. They like the princess tea, it just makes them feel more comfortable.”
