Update: Riverfront Development

The first phase of Fort Wayne’s riverfront development will occur on both the north and south banks of the St. Marys River between Harrison Street and the historic Wells Street Bridge.

Phase one will include an urban street park, event pavilion, central plaza, riverfront terraces, elevated tree canopy trail, docks and a children’s play area.

Construction is scheduled to begin this summer and will take about 18 months to complete.

INFortWayne’s Ray Steup recently spoke with Dan Wire, executive director of the Tri-State Watershed Alliance; Rachel Vedder, project manager for Design Collaborative; and Alec Johnson, landscape architect for Fort Wayne Parks and Recreation to get an update on the project.
