A sea of red-shirted cyclists took over downtown Fort Wayne Saturday, June 3, for the 9th annual Le Tour de Fort.

The bike crawl through the Summit City is hosted by VFW Post 857 and raises funds to support disabled veterans.

Hundreds of cyclists participated in this year’s event, cycling from restaurants and bars in and around downtown from noon to 7 p.m. – with many continuing their tour of area food establishments into the late evening.

Participating establishments of the Le Tour de Fort included:

Deer Park
The Brass Rail
The Deck at Don Hall’s Old Gas House
JK O’Donnell,
Pint & Slice
Columbia Street West
The Side Car at Wine Down
Redwood Inn
Pedal City
Green Frog Inn
Junk Ditch Brewery
West Central Microcreamery & Café

Sponsoring the event were Bob Thomas Ford, Steel Dynamics, Five Star Distributing and McMahon’s Best One Tire and Auto Care.
Also taking place downtown was a block party hosted by the Golden. The restaurant served up pulled pork, bratwurst, macaroni and cheese, beer and other tasty items outside its establishment on Harrison Street. Many Le Tour de Fort riders stopped by to enjoy the eats and music.
