Community members, staff and volunteers celebrated the first day of summer with a cookout, music, arts and games.

The Fort Wayne Parks & Recreation Department, Kingston Healthcare and Active Day supported the Alzheimer’s Association by inviting the public to the Summer Solstice Celebration on Wednesday at the Fort Wayne Community Center.

This event is part of a global awareness movement to help end Alzheimer’s disease.

The Alley Kats, Community Cloggers and Eli the Tuba Guy entertained. Guests enjoyed karaoke and a sing-along, pottery and painting displays, potting plants, making crowns, and games including shuffleboard, table box hockey and a downtown scavenger hunt.
