Fort Wayne Dance Collective will present “Babes In Toyland” at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 17, at the South Side High School auditorium, 3601 S. Calhoun St.

Admission is $15 for adults and $13 for youth. For tickets or info, call FWDC at (260) 424-6574 or go to fwdc.org. Advance tickets are encouraged and tickets will also be available at the door.

Each December, FWDC presents a holiday-themed performance that features students of all ages and abilities from the organization’s on-site school and outreach programs.

The “Babes In Toyland” December Family Concert is a story-dance loosely based off of the original holiday tale. Audience members will be entertained by storybook characters from Mother Goose Land, dancing toys, eerie creatures from the Forest of No Return, and wintry landscapes.

Fort Wayne Dance Collective showcases diversity and inclusion through several outreach programs and varied classes offered at the on-site school. “Babes In Toyland” will showcase multiple genres of dance by including modern dance, jazz dance, ballet, taiko drumming, heels dance, hip-hop and more.

“I am eager to present this unique take on a holiday classic for the Fort Wayne community,” said Mandie Kolkman, FWDC’s artistic director. “ ‘Babes In Toyland’ truly demonstrates the creativity and whimsy of the people engaged through the organization.”
