Homestead welcomes community to two events Feb. 20

FORT WAYNE – The community is invited to an evening at Homestead High School Feb. 20 beginning at 6 p.m.

A Taste of Homestead (HHS Cafeteria at 6-7:30 p.m.)

More than 100 Homestead students have spent the last several months preparing to teach their peers, their families and the community more about the world’s cultures. Their method of instruction: food. Students will transform Homestead’s cafeteria into an around the world tour during the fifth annual A Taste of Homestead.

With 35 countries represented, guests will have the opportunity to learn more about a country from student presenters while enjoying samples of the country’s food, music and traditional garb. Doors are open Wednesday from 6-7:30 p.m. Guests should enter through Door 1 – the high school’s main entrance.

The Homestead High School Construction Project (HHS Auditorium at 7:30 p.m.)

Southwest Allen Schools will host an informational meeting that will include a fiscal look at the upcoming Homestead High School Construction Project. The community is invited to learn more about the project’s funding with no tax increase and the projected timeline and process beginning at 7:30 p.m. in HHS’ auditorium.
