Next riverfront public meeting set for March 7


FORT WAYNE — The city of Fort Wayne has announced an upcoming meeting to share plans for the next phases of riverfront development.

Residents are invited to learn about the planning progress during a public meeting 6:30-8 p.m. March 7 in the auditorium at North Side High School, 475 E. State Blvd. The public should enter through Door #1. Light snacks will be provided.

During the meeting, representatives from David Rubin Land Collective, the landscape architecture and urban design firm contracted to lead the next phases of planning for Riverfront Fort Wayne, will discuss the following:

  • What public input they received from the last meeting and how it is influencing their plans,
  • The most recent market analysis conclusions,
  • How to organize development along the riverfront, and
  • How the character of the riverfront neighborhood might be portrayed.

Residents will again have an opportunity to provide their input during interactive planning exercises following a brief presentation.

David Rubin Land Collective has completed, or is working on, designs for waterfront districts in Wilmington, Delaware; Allentown, Pennsylvania; Bala Cynwyd, Pennsylvania; the Cayman Islands and the following Indiana communities: Westfield, Columbus, Muncie and Indianapolis.

Other members of the riverfront implementation team include: Agency Landscape + Planning, Beyer Blinder Belle, HR & A, Bruce Mau Design, One Lucky Guitar, Christopher B. Burke Engineering (CBBEL), DLZ, CE Solutions, MSKTD & Associates, Wilson Consulting and Dharam Consulting.
