Blackhawk Christian presents “The Little Mermaid”


FORT WAYNE — Blackhawk Christian Theatre will present Disney’s “The Little Mermaid” March 15 and 16.

The musical features the classic Disney songs “Under the Sea,” “Kiss the Girl,” and “Part of Your World,” as well as eight new original songs for the stage adaptation.

The production will feature a cast of 32 high school students. Starring in the role of Ariel is senior Josie Ladig, with senior Corey Mitchell in the role of Prince Eric.

Senior McKenna Parks plays Ursula, the Sea Witch with juniors Donovan Connelly and Asher McAlister as her henchmen, Flotsam and Jetsam.

Freshman Jaydan Navarro takes the role of King Triton, with freshmen Ryan Peroza and Noah Crampton playing Sebastian and Flounder respectively.

Senior Renaé Rogers plays Scuttle the seagull. Senior Abi Holmes and sophomore Zack Harless serve as stage managers with a crew of over a dozen students working crew and tech.

The production is under the direction of drama director Rich Luedeke and Stephanie Longbrake as music director/vocal coach.

The show will be performed in the North Campus gym of Blackhawk Christian Intermediate School at 7400 East State Boulevard.

Performances begin at 7 p.m. with the doors opening at 6:30 p.m. Tickets will be available at the door: $8 for adults, $6 for students.
