The Homestead High School and Summit and Woodside middle school dance teams wrapped up their competition season March 20 with the state competition at New Castle High School.
Homestead High School varsity dance team, led by head coach Britney Lombardo and assistant coach Ashlie Manor, were silver medalists and state runners up in the AAA hip hop category. The team also earned bronze medals in the AAA jazz category.
Homestead junior varsity dance team were state runners up in the JV hip hop category.
Homestead soloist Aubrey Couch earned the title of state runner up in the junior solo division. Homestead soloist Paige Bransteter placed fourth in the same division.
Homestead Small Ensemble, which included Reagan Casey, Sophie Schwartz and Bransteter, were state runners up in the small ensemble division.
Homestead dancers Karli Barsantee, Couch, Chloe Livensparger, Humza Khan, Carly Wilcox, Jillian Fields and Olivia Ennis were state runners up in the large ensemble category.
Emma McKibben, Azure Wherle, Rachel Robbins, Shannon Asiala, Emmy Castle and Jadyn Pugh placed fifth in the same category for Homestead.
Woodside Middle School dance team, led by coach Clarissa Kuhn, placed third in the junior high AA hip hop division and placed sixth in the junior high AA jazz division.
Woodside dancers Cate Bilodeau and Madison Webb placed sixth in the junior high ensemble division.
Woodside dancers Ellie Ewing, Akua Addo, Natalee Mcquillan, Jadyn Mansberger and Ashley Bowes placed ninth in the same division.
Summit Middle School dance team, coached by Baylee Peppler-Figel, placed fourth in the junior high AA jazz division and placed ninth in the junior high AA hip hop division.
Summit dancers Makayla Henline, Kamryn Parks, Hannah Johnson and Catherine Ji placed third in the junior high ensemble division.
