FORT WAYNE — Public Education Parent Advocacy Facebook Group KISS (Keep Indiana Schools Strong) and NEIFPE (Northeast Indiana Friends of Public Education) are sponsoring an event featuring Indiana State Superintendent of Public Instruction Dr. Jennifer McCormick on April 18. Parents, educators, and community members are invited to attend this free event, which is hosted by Ivy Tech Community College Fort Wayne.
Dr. McCormick will discuss her assessment of the state of education in Indiana and provide ways we can all be engaged advocates for our children, students, and teachers. The event will also cover 2019 Legislative Session Education Proposals including K-12 funding, teacher salaries, STEM/CTE funding, graduation requirements, transition from ISTEP to ILEARN, school accountability/transparency issues, and state superintendent qualifications.
Dr. McCormick is Indiana’s 44th Superintendent of Public Instruction and has served at every level of the K-12 system. As Indiana’s education system leader, she is an energetic and tireless advocate for children, dedicated to improving educational outcomes.
